Is it being "awkward" to not have need for a passport's primary purpose and also not want the cost of acquiring one?
Sorry Jaymac, but in the emerging brave new world it's also awkward to want to use your bank account or buy a train ticket unless you have also paid to acquire a smartphone or a PC/laptop and associated internet services even if you have no other use for them or have positively decided you don't want one....

Gatwick Airport faced water outage after main burst
Gatwick Airport passengers were left without water after a main burst in a nearby field.
SES Water said that it located a burst main in Horley, with parts of the airport left without water as a result.
A spokesperson for the airport confirmed that the issue had affected water supply in both terminals and was under investigation by SES Water. The water company said it had begun to restore supply.
Flights remained unaffected by the disruption, the airport added.

0 is at Paddington - specifically on the linking walkway in front of the Paddington Square building. Quite what it links, or will, I'm not sure; it mainly seems to block off Tanner Lane (what was London Street) where the change in ground level is now incompatible with it continuing.

Huge waste facility fire shuts Tube and train lines
A large fire has broken out at a waste facility close to Wembley Stadium in north-west London, shutting Tube and train lines in the area.
The London Fire Brigade (LFB) said 125 firefighters were tackling the blaze at an industrial estate on Hannah Close in Neasden, with the smoke plumes visible from miles away in central London.
The LFB was alerted just after 11:30 BST and has deployed 20 fire engines to the scene. Residents have been warned to keep their windows and doors shut because of the huge amount of smoke.
Transport for London (TfL) said the entire Metropolitan line has been suspended as a result, while the Jubilee line has been part shut between Willesden Green and Wembley Park.
Rail services to and from London Marylebone are also being delayed or cancelled due to train lines to Aylesbury being blocked, National Rail said.

I haven’t heard anything about 158s personally.
Here’s more on the Class 175 plan - which explains why less have been in service lately:
“A recovery plan is being put in place which will centre around a dedicated technical investigation team, with specialists from GWR and our industry partners Alstom and Angel.
New processes will also be introduced with enhanced pre-service checks and ensuring the trains complete a significant amount of miles without a fault occurring before they are able to go into passenger service.”
But the facts are that the 175s were fairly fragile with TfW and are from the same family as the 180s which were fairly fragile when with FGW. Having been in storage for a year or two won’t have helped.
So I think just about reliable enough is the best we can wish for!

Pictures taken by ... myself on my travels .. showing the great variety that are railways. I have lots of pictures with trains in them, but this series - over three days does not feature trains. Just at or near railway stations. For the UK ones, can you tell me the station; for the overseas ones, can you tell me the country and there's a bonus for the actual place.

Is this now the least likely to run as advertised service on the GW network? Why is it even in the timetable? They could just add it as a special excursion on the days when they can be a*s*d to run it
35% cancellation in the last 4 weeks.
1636 Oxford - Didcot also on 35% over the last 4 weeks which of course then forms the 1704 DID to Evesham.
As we all know since electrification was cancelled GWR has not had enough diesel trains. Cancelling the half complete electrification to Oxford was one of the most stupid decisions made. Thanks Chris Grayling, who has plenty of form with stupid decisions.

Just a short note .please check your drivers license,whilst you may be entitled to drive until well into the future,the photo card does need to be renewed and the picture updated every so often 10 years at this time.
