The BBC news this morning (23.8.2025) is all doom and gloom about people travelling today - especially on Cross Country Trains where there's virtually nothing running.
But it struck me as interesting as to who they've interviewed in the last half hour. Bruce Williamson and Neil Middleton, both of Railfuture.
I find it sad - and perhaps it's telling - that the only organisation that the BBC could find to put / represent the passenger interest is Railfuture. Is that because everyone else who purports to represent the passenger lies within the funding structures of the government and is directly or indirectly funded via that route?

Simon Calder is being interviewed too and is summarising all the issues quite effectively on rail, air, road and ferries highlighting the worst pinch points.

Errr...that's nowt, nada, nothing whatsoever on Crosscountry.
Being available - on the end of the phone & (in the case of TV) able to travel to a suitable rail-looking interview venue. Bruce W is very good at that & gets his e-card around the media outlets
